Our organization’s rich history relates to the inspiring journey of our co-founder, Mohamed Ahmed. Who was born in Somalia and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Co-founder Mohamed Ahmed’s story is one of resilience, determination, and a powerful desire to have influence in the lives of others. At a youthful age, Mohamed experienced the tragic loss of his father, who was killed before his eyes. This traumatic event forced him to flee his home country, Somalia, in search of safety and a better future.
While many children who have faced similar horrors turn to drugs, violence, and gang membership to cope with their pain, Mohamed chose a different path. Instead, he took on the responsibility of supporting his widowed mother and siblings by selling firewood and water on the streets. Even in the face of immense adversity, Mohamed displayed remarkable maturity and determination to support his family.
Having been given a second chance at life, Mohamed recognized the importance of helping others in similar situations. He made a conscious decision to join African boys and girls can lead nonprofit Organization Youth Club, where he became a mentor for a youth group. Through this role, Mohamed aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drugs, guns, gang violence, youth homelessness, and mental health issues among young people.


Mohamed’s subjective experiences have given him a unique perspective on the struggles that many young individuals face. He understands the impact that mentorship, guidance, and awareness can have on their lives. By sharing his story and dedicating his time to the African boys and girls can lead Nonprofit Organization, Mohamed hopes to empower and support young people who may be going through similar challenges

He attended Columbia Heights High School and graduated with a diploma, setting the foundation for his future endeavors.
Driven by his passion for automotive engineering, Mohamed furthered his education at Cuyamaca College, where he pursued courses in this field and earned automotive certificates. However, his journey was not solely focused on personal achievements; Mohamed consistently showed his commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others.

Our vision is to create a Minnesota where all youth, regardless of their gender or backgrounds, have equal opportunities to thrive and become leaders in addressing critical issues such as drug abuse, gun violence prevention, gang violence prevention, homelessness, cultural competence, and parenting discrimination prevention. Through our comprehensive youth programs, we aim to empower young individuals with the skills, knowledge, and support necessary to make a positive impact in their communities.

Mentoring and Leadership Programs:
We believe in the power of mentorship and leadership development to shape the future of Minnesota’s youth. Our programs will match youth with experienced mentors who will provide guidance, support, and encouragement. Through mentorship, we aim to instill confidence, resilience, and critical thinking skills in our youth, enabling them to become leaders in their communities and effect positive change.
Drug Abuse Prevention:
Addressing drug abuse is of utmost importance. Our programs will provide education and awareness campaigns to inform youth about the dangers and consequences of drug abuse. We will emphasize prevention strategies, offer resources for rehabilitation and support, and collaborate with local organizations to provide access to counseling and treatment for affected individuals.

Homelessness:
Our organization is committed to addressing the issue of homelessness among youth in Minnesota. We will collaborate with local shelters, housing organizations, and social service agencies to provide support, resources, and mentorship to homeless youth. Our programs will focus on providing temporary and long-term housing solutions, access to education and job training, and mental health support to help youth transition out of homelessness and build a stable future.
Gun Violence Prevention and Gang Violence Prevention:

We will provide workshops and training sessions to educate youth on the dangers and consequences of gun violence and gang involvement.
